Following our successful work with North Kirklees arts and culture organisation Creative Scene to promote some of their projects earlier this year, we were delighted to be asked to work with them again on this year’s Batley Festival.

The one-day event, the fifth annual Festival, was held across the town centre on Saturday 10 September. It was a celebration of local and professional talent which culminated in The Batley Picture Show, a live evening outdoor 40-minute spectacular.

We were asked to promote the event to a wider audience across Yorkshire, encourage more people to make the trip to visit Batley on the day itself and find out about the efforts of Kirklees Council, Creative Scene and all of those involved in staging the Festival.

As well as ensuring the event was in the what’s on sections and arts and culture supplements of the Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Evening Post and Yorkshire Times, we promoted the detail of the Festival, timings on the day and efforts of all involved with articles in the Huddersfield Examiner and Wakefield Express. On the day of the event, we organised for the Chairman to be interviewed live on BBC Radio Leeds building the excitement just hours before the Festival.
