Our founder and managing director, Stef, has been working on bringing the first ever Kirklees and Calderdale Christmas Lunch (KACCL), to raise funds for Forget Me Not, having joined the committee of local business people in February 2016.

The inaugural charity lunch raised a massive  £18,000 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

In January 2016, the hospice was hit by a devastating fire and lost £140,000 in funding. The money that was raised from the KACCL event will help tremendously towards recouping some of this devastating loss.

The lunch on December 15, sponsored by Huddersfield accountants Crowther, was held at Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top and attended by 240 people in the local business community. Compered by well-loved local magician John Danbury, who also acted as the event’s auctioneer, the event saw Huddersfield New College’s Performing Arts Group performing alongside Musica Kirklees’ String Quartet.

Speaking about the event Stefanie said: “We would like to thank everyone in the business community who attended the lunch and helped us to raise such a fantastic amount for a very worthy, local cause.

“We started planning the first KACCL lunch at the start of the year and have already set a date for the event in 2017 – Thursday 7th December – where we hope to raise even more funds.”

Stefanie was joined on the KACCL organising committee by figures from local businesses including James Robinson Fibres Ltd, Cedar Court Hotels, Chadwick Lawrence, Stafflex, Brug Consultancy, Crowther Accountants and TopicUK.
