Pupils from Hipperholme Grammar School were all-singing and all-dancing as they staged a special afternoon tea party with a difference in honour of their grandparents.
Junior pupils took centre stage as they put on a show-stopping performance for their very important guests and served up tea, coffee and cake at the school, in Bramley Lane, Halifax.
Introduced by Head Girls, Sophie Moss and Dinara Gill, the three-to-11-year-old performing pupils based their Grandparents’ Afternoon show on a school focus week theme called ‘Bonkers for Books’. Pupils brought their favourite stories to life through song and dance – from fairytale ballets to special poems and readings.
Hipperholme Grammar Junior School Headteacher, Sarah Weller, said an event like this underlined just how important pupils and staff valued family.
“The children enjoyed treating their grandparents and it was lovely to see the pupils up on stage, showcasing some of the exciting things we do at Hipperholme Grammar School,” she said.
“It’s really important to show our appreciation for everyone’s grandparents as we know how much they do for our pupils and their parents.”
