Doncaster headquartered national sleep support service, The Sleep Charity, has announced the appointment of Dr Desaline Joseph, a leading sleep consultant at children’s hospital, Evelina London, to its board of trustees to enhance its sleep advice and support services for children.
Dr Joseph is a national expert in childhood and adolescent sleep disorders; and is passionate about education and supporting professionals in their personal growth.
Specialising in paediatric sleep medicine, Dr Joseph runs a tertiary sleep service, which aims to support paediatric consultants and CAMHS psychiatrists in assessment and management of children and young people with complex, rare and refractory sleep conditions.
As a new trustee, Dr Joseph will contribute to the development of strategies that reinforce the Charity’s overall direction in addressing children’s sleep-related concerns. The Sleep Charity’s CEO, Vicki Beevers, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Joseph as a new trustee.
“Her expert knowledge of childhood and adolescent sleep disorders will help to strengthen our approach to children’s sleep. Her experience in sleep education and her passion for helping young people thrive will be hugely valuable.
